I love the SPF 70 strength. I haven’t tried the others. This is great for those times I don’t feel like rubbing in lotion. There’s no evidence of sun exposure, even after being out gardening for hours. I’m one who doesn’t want any sun to get through, and this achieves that for me. Plus, I’m very vain and this doesn’t make me feel icky/sticky or look slippery. Thanks!

All 40 seeds were planted three months ago, and so far four seedlings have sprouted. Nowhere near ready to have flowers yet, but am very happy with the seedlings! Columbines tend to have uneven germination rates so I’m not giving up on the rest of them yet. Especially as we head into the colder months…they like the cold. I’ll update my review once the flowers start showing and I can comment on their gorgeousness.
Update: I have two surviving plants out of the 40 seeds planted. The flowers were smaller than I thought they would be, but then, the picture didn’t show size context. I am very happy with my Black Barlows and would plant again, given that I love unusually dark flowers. They have survived well through our Zone 9 winter in pots!
I’ve been very happy with my Gardman Greenhouse, except that it’s tearing away from its zipper towards the bottom. Really not cool, considering it’s only been in use about a month!
The pros: love that the cover is dark enough to keep seedlings from being burned by direct sun; the moveable shelves; lightweight enough to pick it up and move it if it’s in the wrong place; it looks great in the garden! Nothing says “serious gardener” like a greenhouse, and I’m a show-off!
The con: the tear that I mentioned. It doesn’t affect its function, but after only a month in very gentle hands: really?! It’s about six inches now.
I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of this item over the years. Even if the cover wears out from the elements, I’ll always use the shelves and grids. It’s fastened to the ground with landscape staples and leaning against the side of the house so the wind can’t knock it over. If it weren’t fastened down, it would blow over probably by blowing on it — this is a VERY lightweight item! I love it!
